During the House Judiciary Committee meeting, Chairman Nadler said Congress’ fight is “not just about the Mueller report.”
USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. appeared to faint at a Friday morning event in New York City.

The 71-year-old House Judiciary Committee chairman said in a tweet afterward that it “was very warm in the room this morning, was obviously dehydrated and felt a bit ill.”

Nadler had been attending an event about speed cameras in school zones. Video shows New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio leaning over to help the congressman, telling him, “you look a little dehydrated, you OK?” and offering him a bottle of water to drink.

Nadler can then be heard answering “no.”

According to the New York Times, the congressman was later taken to Lenox Hill Hospital after regaining consciousness and being given water and an orange.

Nadler has been at odds at with the White House as the Judiciary Committee investigates President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, administration, and business dealings. Impeachment proceedings would also first move through the House Judiciary Committee since it has jurisdiction over the procedure.
